US Continues to Fund...

In an article posted on April 10th on CNN.com, the US has sent nearly 60 million US dollars over to Palestinians authority president Mahmoud Abbas in wishes of mostly helpping there non-lethal training and equipment for there security forces. Also to upgrade the crossing into northern Gaza. They are sending the money directly to Abbas in order to bypass a group called Hamas which is known by the US as a terrorist group. Last year, before Abbas, Hamas won teh Palestinian elections and took control over the parliament and prime minister post, but not presidency. So last year when the Hamas refused to end terrorist attacks the US and EU cut off complete funding to teh Palestinian government, and began helpping the Palestinians through NGO's. The stoppage of funding took a huge hit on the Palestinian government, which was already struggling through wide spread corruption. So this is the reason why teh US is funding directly to Abbas.
I personally feel the US is making another smart choice and great step into goal to defeat terrorism. They continue to help in ways of not only funding but protecting the Palestinains from harm.
